Today, Interweave Healthcare is a wholesale healthcare textiles business serving NHS hospitals, clinics and contract laundries across the UK. In 2017, the company had an approximate turnover of £5 million per year.
The company has grown strongly in the last 5 years, with the main drivers of this success being attributed to continuously improving our customer service and widening our routes to market, including becoming an authorised supplier on the NHS Supply Chain Portal.
Where and how did it start?
In 1999, the business was purchased by John Horsfall & Sons Ltd. a successful textile business operating since 1863 in the West Yorkshire area. The new owners recognised the potential for the future of the company, the team in place and the products we provided.
The company became Interweave Textiles Ltd. in 2004 and was relocated to a much larger facility on the outskirts of Elland in West Yorkshire. Today, the Interweave warehousing and logistics remains in this location at Victoria Works.

Interweave Healthcare today
Since the relocation to Elland, the company has steadily grown through offering a wider range of healthcare textile products to a broader audience by leveraging the textile industry experience and knowledge of the John Horsfall’s Group.
Currently, the largest customer group is reached through the NHS Supply Chain, where Interweave showcases over 200 different products online to NHS hospital buyers and NHS laundry managers.
In late 2017, the commercial office moved to Interweave House, a larger premise just a mile down the road from our warehouse in Elland. We hope you’ll have the chance to visit!
2018 was a big year for Interweave: As well as undergoing a significant warehouse redevelopment project to improve the efficiency and accuracy of our logistics, we have also launched this new ecommerce website, opening a new chapter in Interweave’s history book! Customers from private hospitals, clinics and the wider healthcare and social care business community now browse and buy products via this channel.
In 2019 we worked on two major projects: integrating the premium brand scrubs division Kara into Interweave; as well as continuing with our warehouse transformation project.
