Interweave incorporated 25 years ago, in October 1999. We’ve listed some pivotal moments in our company history timeline to date.
1999 Batley-based company (then called “Webster Weave”) was purchased by John Horsfall & Sons Ltd. Increased efficiencies to drive next-day delivery capabilities. Started selling towels, then cotton sheets, cellular blankets and waffle blankets. Then patient gowns were introduced.
2000 The business was mainly focused on selling the waffle weave blanket to medical facilities. Polycotton sheets and the scrub suits range were also introduced.
2002 Patient nightwear introduced
2003 Product development of seclusion products started.
2004 Re-named Interweave Textiles Ltd, moved to larger facilities in Elland
2006 Interfaith gown developed with Trustech, as reported in the Evening Standard
2007 Thermal throws introduced
2010 Trellis bedspread developed and launched to replace previous bedspread range
2011 Product development of bariatric products. Became members of the National Back Exchange
2012 Started selling products on the NHS Supply Chain website. Dignity gown developed.
2013 Expanded product range to 200 lines
2014 Extended sales reach from NHS hospitals to the care home sector
2016 Introduction of patient safety garments such as slipper socks
2017 Head office function moved to new offices in Elland, just a mile from the warehouse
2018 Launched ecommerce website. Started offering bulk buying online option to members of the Charities Buying Group.
2019 Premium brand scrubs division, Kara merged with Interweave. Warehouse transformation project underway.
2020 Supplied bulk scrubs to the NHS during Covid pandemic
2021 Merged with new acquisition: Orvecare, introducing patient warming products to Interweave customers
2022 Re-launched Seclusion range with new SecureTex fabric
2023 Launched the THERMARMOUR brand of patient warming products
2024 Expanded our team and celebrated our 25th birthday!
