What are website cookies?

For almost any website to work properly, it needs to collect certain basic information about its users. To do this, a site will create files known as “cookies” which are small text files stored on its users’ computers. These cookies are designed to allow the website to recognise its users on subsequent visits, or to authorise other designated websites to recognise these users for a particular purpose.

Cookies do a lot of different jobs which make your experience of the Internet much smoother and more interactive. For instance, they are used to remember your preferences on websites you visit often, to remember your user ID and the contents of your shopping baskets, and to help you navigate between pages more efficiently. They also help ensure that the advertisements that you see online are more relevant to you and your interests. Some data collected is designed to detect browsing patterns and approximate geographical location to improve user experience.

Use of cookies and website analytics

Cookies and other similar technologies may be used to collect anonymised data about your visit.

We use Google AdWords Remarketing to advertise Interweave Healthcare across the internet. AdWords remarketing will display relevant ads tailored to you based on which parts of the Interweave Healthcare website you have viewed by placing a cookie on your computer or device. This cookie does not in any way identify you or give access to your computer. The cookie is used to say “This person visited this page, so show them ads relating to that page.” Google AdWords Remarketing allows us to tailor our marketing to better suit your needs and only display ads that are relevant to you. You can choose to opt out of this service by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt out page or by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.

Interweave Textiles uses Google Analytics, which is a web analytics service provided by Google. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to analyse how users use the websites. The information generated about website usage (including your shortened IP address) is transmitted to Google in the U.S. This information is used to evaluate visitors’ use of the website, compile statistical reports on website activity, and provide other services related to the website and internet use. Google may also collect information about visitors’ use of other websites. Cookies are also used to recognize your computer when you visit the website subsequent times and to enable you to login to your online shopping account.
