Product spotlight: Bariatric non-slip socks

In 2021, 25.9% of adults in England were classed as “clinically obese”. This number has increased over the years, meaning that more patients require bariatric size patient wear for both hospital care and home use. That is why having bariatric non-slip socks as an option for patients is very important.

Traditional non-slip hospital socks are available in a variety of standard sizes, typically up to 2XL, or even 3XL. Although this is suitable for the majority of patients, it is not fully size inclusive. Take a look at the key features of our bariatric slipper socks.

Stretchy mesh netting

The top of these socks is made from a stretchy mesh netting fabric, which is comfortable to wear and breathable. They can be worn during all seasons.

This fabric provides more stretch than other socks, without adding pressure to potentially painful and wounded legs.

Extra wide

Compared to other non-slip socks, bariatric socks are designed to be extra wide to accommodate larger feet and ankles.

The socks stretches to 64cm around the calf, and stretches to 44cm around the foot.

Accommodates oedema

Patients with oedema (swelling) can benefit from wearing bariatric socks, they provide the necessary non-slip protection without being too tight.

Latex free

Interweave bariatric socks, like our other sizes, are latex free.

Making them suitable for patients with latex allergies.

Sold in packs of five

Bariatric socks are sold in packs of 5, this ensures the patient has enough socks to wear around the home.

Used as a patient specific product in hospitals, so laundering may diminish the performance and appearance.
