It can be washed at 60 degrees without compromising on its quality and integrity.

 

Mattress protectors

Mattress protectors are a great option when looking to preserve the longevity of a mattress, and to make cleaning easier. Quilted waterproof mattress protector

This protector will protect a bed from accidental leaks and spills. It is available in a standard single bed size, measuring 90cm wide and 190cm long. The elasticated edges measure 33cm deep, this makes it easier for carers to put on the bed.

Inside the protector is a waterproof inner layer, with a super soft quilted top layer for comfort. Machine washable at 40 degrees for convenience.

White draw sheet

If you prefer flat sheets instead of fitted, this draw sheet is the ideal mattress protector. The “Dri-shield” wipeable pillow is ideal for any medical or care facility. The wipe clean pillow outer ensures the pillow is easy to clean and lasts longer. In addition, the cover is flame retardant to BS7175 Source 5, a requirement for many care homes.

Flame retardant waterproof pillow

This pillow is often used by nursing homes, hospitals and local authorities due to its versatility. The seams on the pillow have been welded to ensure it is fully water repellent. On top of that, the pillow cover is flame retardant, tested to Source 5 BS7175.

V shaped pillows

Slide sheets

In care facilities, moving and handling residents is a daily task. Due to certain health conditions and disabilities, residents may require assistance moving in bed, or to a seated position. Slide sheets help with this. They are available in different styles, such as flat or tubular.

Using a slide sheet for moving residents minimises the risk of carers suffering back injuries, and provides a more comfortable experience for the resident.

Reusable slide sheets

Reusable slide sheets are launderable, meaning they are cost-effective and better for the environment. If your care home has sufficient laundering facilities, reusable slide sheets are a great option for keeping costs low. Made from a strong polyester with a silicone coated surface, they are easy and comfortable to use.

Patient specific slide sheets

In cases where there are no or limited laundry facilities, patient specific slide sheets are a popular choice. These slide sheets are also used when manual handling professionals visit patients in the community, as this is a hygienic and convenient option. Made from a silicone impregnated polyester, the resident finds it comfortable to lie on top of.

Typically used to move residents to a sitting position, turn them over in bed, or transfer to a trolley safely.

Slide sheets with handles

Slide sheets with handles provide additional stability when moving residents. The handles are on 3 sides of the sheet for ease of use and comfort of the carers, and helps to avoid staff suffering from back injuries. Made from 100% silicone coated polyester, and available in multiple sizes to suit the specific needs of the care facility.

For infection control, the reusable slide sheets with handles can be washed in a hot wash.

Transfer sheets

Transfer sheets are used to move a resident from a bed to a trolley. It features 6 ergonomic handles on each side, which helps the carers maintain a strong grip on the slide sheet whilst undertaking the transfer. Made from 100% non-woven polypropylene, which is tough and durable.

You can use transfer sheets with extension handles for more reach and stability.

Slide sheet extension handles

This tool is used to aid in moving and handling patients. You can add the handles to a transfer sheet for more stability. It has a 300kg breaking strain per strap, so you can move residents of heavier weights safely. The handles extend your reach by 90cm, making moving a resident easier and reducing the risk of injury to both the resident and carer.

The extension handles are launderable and reusable, an ideal product for a care home to have.

 

Non slip socks

Non slip socks are commonly worn in hospitals. Patients or residents with mobility issues, or those recovering from surgery wear these socks for peace of mind and added stability when walking around. The grip on the socks reduces the risk of slipping on hard surfaces such as wooden floors, or on bathroom tiles.

Double tread
