Slide Sheets

Slide sheets allow nurses and carers to use basic manual handling without needing to lift the patient. Sliding sheets are invaluable when moving a patient on or off a bed or a trolley, when turning a patient over in bed and when sitting the patient up.

Using these sheets minimises the likelihood of nurses and carers suffering back injuries and provides a more dignified and comfortable movement for the patient.

Made from strong polyester sheets with slippy silicon coated surfaces, the reusable and washable slide sheets are available in 3 styles: flat, flat with handles and tubular.

The reusable glide sheets are useful in hospital wards and residential care homes, they can be washed at thermal disinfection temperatures (71 °C) which safely removes bacteria between uses.

The less expensive patient specific slide sheets are typically used in situations where the patient is in hospital for a long time and the slide sheet stays with them for the full length of their treatment. The patient specific slide sheet is made from strong polyester and is not designed to be washable. The PU coating is applied to a single side of the slide sheet, this makes the fabric lightweight, flexible and water resistant.
