Every situation and every patient has different needs, which is why we offer falls prevention items individually, so that you can build your own Falls Prevention Kit.  The bright yellow colour signifies that someone is at a higher risk of falling. It’s easy to spot, and acts as a visual cue to helps teams know who to offer extra support to.

The Falls Prevention yellow blankets are available in three different types. There’s a small fleece, single-use blanket – this is ideal to place on the end of a bed, or use as a lap blanket. Another option is a re-usable, washable polyester cellular lap blanket, which can be washed time and again at thermal disinfection temperatures. This blanket has a cellular weave – again you can place this on the end of a bed or use over the lap. The last yellow blanket option is also made from open weave polyester cellular fabric, this is sized to cover a single bed.

With the blanket, it’s ideal for the patient or resident to wear bright yellow Falls Prevention non-slip socks. These are available in wide range of sizes, to cover all adult shoe sizes. The socks have non-slip tread on both the top and bottom of the foot. This is to ensure that there’s always tread connected to the floor even if the sock twists round on the foot when walking.
