Manual handling injuries cause musculoskeletal disorders, which is the most common type of occupational ill health in the UK. Back pain, in particular, accounts for approximately 40% of all sick absence in the NHS every year. It is important to find ways to avoid this in professions that are at higher risk of injury, such as manual handling professionals.

The type of slide sheet used is determined by the movement and the handlers preference.

We also provide transfer sheets. This type of sheet is used by several nurses or carers moving one patient from one surface to another. Such as from a hospital bed to a trolley for transportation. The transfer sheet with handles is made from a strong and durable fabric.

Reusable slide sheets are growing in popularity as they are a more sustainable choice, they can be washed at high temperatures and reused. Patient specific slide sheets are designed to stay with the patient throughout their stay, to be disposed of after this time. Which is a great option for facilities with no laundry available.
