Interweave completes NHS Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment
As a company, we have been focusing on sustainability, within our own operations, our supply chain, and organisations we work with. Therefore, Interweave Healthcare are pleased to have completed the NHS Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment.
The Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment is a self-assessment and reporting tool for us to understand our alignment with the NHS sustainability priorities. It also helps us to identify those areas in which we need to accelerate progress.
The Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment
The Evergreen Assessment is one of several NHS initiatives designed to support its net zero and wider sustainability objectives. We are delighted to be supporting the NHS to achieve their net zero and sustainability ambitions. Including those set out in the NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap.
“The Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment is an online tool which enabled suppliers to engage with the NHS on their sustainability journey and understand how to align with the NHS net zero sustainability ambitions, including those set out in the NHS net zero supplier roadmap.” – NHS England
What are the benefits for suppliers?
Supporting NHS net zero goals are important to us, sharing in the responsibility for a sustainable future, connects and brings organisations together. In addition, the NHS highlights the following benefits for suppliers:
Benchmark against current and future NHS priorities – Suppliers can see how they align to the NHS’s long-term sustainability priorities.
One conversation with the NHS – Suppliers have a standardised way of communicating their sustainability information to all NHS buyers.
Supports sustainability ambitions – Suppliers can use the assessment to help inform internal planning and decision-making. Such as developing business cases for sustainable investment or global target setting.
What are the benefits for NHS organisations?
The Evergreen assessment provides more information about suppliers. Allowing NHS organisations to have access to a central source of supplier sustainability information. Other benefits include:
Improved understanding of supply chain – Provides information that can improve trust and ICB understanding of their supply chain’s progress towards sustainability targets.
One conversation with suppliers – Provides a central source of supplier sustainability information with maturity scoring aligned to the NHS Net Zero and wider sustainability priorities.
Supports contract management – Provides information to inform contract management conversations with suppliers to promote alignment with the NHS sustainability priorities. In particular where emissions reductions form part of the key performance indicators (KPIs).
