What is thermal disinfection?
Thermal disinfection is a process that removes infections such as bacteria and viruses from fabric, through the use of hot water. To thermally disinfect something, the items must be washed in very hot water, at least 71 degrees.
In healthcare environments, it’s vitally important to be able to thermally disinfect all soft surfaces, such as patient gowns, scrub suits, blankets and other bedding. This prevents cross-infection between staff and patients.
