What is a slipper sock?

A slipper sock is a type of non slip sock which has a tread underneath the foot, or sometimes it has tread on the top and sole of the foot. A slipper sock is usually given to patients in hospital, to allow them to feel safer when walking around. Typically worn instead of slippers. See slipper socks.
